Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Love this place and it's amazing hot sauce! They have their own Habanero Sauce that I crave and pour all over my burrito. I almost always get the El Super Burrito Al Pastor and you can't go wrong! mmmm

I want to like this restaurant more because it is located near my work and it seems like some authentic Mexican food. However, there are little things that keep it from being 4 or 5 stars. I usually only really care about the food, cuz that's what you go for, but I could tell that the cleanliness could've been improved. I just got back from lunch. Several of the tables could've been cleared and wiped down. To be fair, I only noticed three people behind the counter, and it was lunch, so they were busy. I've been here a few times now, and each and every time I leave I get the same, "that was okay," feeling. I just got a torta de tinga, which is a shredded chicken with chipotle. The meat itself had good flavor. But the ingredients included were not fresh. The tomato was green and the avocado was mushy. The bread was okay but it was too spongy for my preference. The chips that they gave us were stale. The salsas are decent. My coworker got the sopes de asada and she wasn't impressed. She is Hispanic so I trust her haha. She said they used yellow cheese, which is not the way to go, and cabbage instead of lettuce. The asada was average too - which I would have to agree with. I've had the tacos before, and those are the best things they have. I like the quesadillas too. The rice and beans are average. Haven't had the burritos yet, those are next. Salsa bar is cool, I like the avocado salsa. If you are in the area and want some Mexican food it would be worth a visit, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Get the tacos, those are good. I feel like depending on what you order you can either get something that you really like, or something that will disappoint you.

$1.25 tacos turns El Super Taco into El Super Cheap Taco. It ain't fancy. It ain't really super. It's cheap. It's super cheap. I tried tres tacos and all three were simple soft tortilla and meat. If you want toppings like onions, cilantro, or salsa, then add them at the small Salsa Bar. $1.25 Tacos - Lengua: Soft chunks of beef tongue ... simple - Carnitas: Ok slices of pork - Al Pastor: Colorful pork, but a little light on flavor El Super Taco is in an quiet strip mall near Jefferson & Sepulveda. You've probably driven by it a 1000 times. Parking is free and the soft tacos are cheap. When you're eating alone and want some fast Mexican food without any fuss at a low price near the Culver City Mall, then check out El Super Cheap Taco.

Great breakfast machaca burrito. ..extra cheese no beans is the way to go. Awesome salsa bar too.

Excellent, well-priced Mexican food with a Oaxacan twist. I have been coming almost here every week since I first started working in Culver City, and at this point have explored the majority of the (lunch) menu. The food is consistent, and the service is prompt, efficient, and friendly. You'll find most of your favorite Mexican standards, including tacos, burritos, and enchiladas, as well as some of the lesser seen ones like Alambre, Clayudas, Mole Negro, and Mexican soups. They also have a wide range of meats to choose from, including standards like Pollo, Carnitas, Asada Beef, and Chorizo, as well as some more exotic choices (Cabesa, Lingua, Buche, etc). The plates are a particularly good choice. A bit more pricey (they hover around $10), but significantly more food. For something lighter (emphasis on the "er", not the "light"), try a burrito, tacos, or enchiladas. They also serve Mole Negro (a thick, Mayan-inspired, sweet-savory-spicy cocoa sauce), poured over either chicken or burrito. El Super Taco has gone so far as to redefine some of the dishes I grew up eating. Case in point: I was always under the impression that soft tacos were culinarily superior to hard shell tacos. That is until, on a whim, I tried their Hard Shell Taco combo. When the dish came out, the tacos were literally still steaming and moist with grease. THIS is how hard shell tacos were meant to be enjoyed: straight out of the kitchen, never out of a bag. Don't let the word "grease" scare you, though. El Super Taco has just enough of the grittiness that every good Mexican restaurant should have, but just enough class to keep you coming back. Sure, it may not be the healthiest choice, but my goodness is it satisfying. Just what you need when your appetite beckons for a little extra push to get you through the day. Oh, and one thing I finally figured out that had me confused for a while: anything with "Combo" in the name comes with a drink. Anything else (even the dishes with "Plate" in the name) does not. "I think you guys have the best Mexican food in town," I once told the cashier. "Si, I think so too," he replied. And he wasn't kidding. Recommended dish: Hard Shell Taco Combo w/ Horchata Or, for the super hungry, the Carne Asada Plate.

I was in the mood for a taco. But unfortunately I did not get to try this place. I ordered my food, but they did not make it for me. I was driving by, place looked like it was good, reviews are ok. Too bad I did not get to try it. I was the only customer in the store, because it was 2pm. Most of the tables were dirty with plates on them, so that was already not a good sign. But I decided to try it. The owner seemed toto seem to be having a meeting at one of the tables. I waited at the counter for a few minutes and then he got up and asked me if I wanted to order. I ordered from him and then he went back to his meeting. I got a Veggie burrito which was probably rice, beans, avocado, which were probably all ready to just be scooped onto a tortilla. There was no one else in the kitchen or restaurant. So I started to wonder who was going to make my food. I waited about five minutes for my food but I did not see anyone in the kitchen making it, so then I told him that if he was too busy that it was fine, so he polite said okay and gave me my money back. I can't say he was rude or the place was not good, because I did not get to try it, but I think they need to work on making that food if they want to keep making those millions...I will not be back. I did go down the street to Dinah's and that was pretty good...

Sparkling clean. Easy parking. My menudo is hot, fresh, and delish. It seems very authentic. There is a salsa bar. They have a large catering menu.
(5)Clubben C.
Its a cool little spot if your planning on having your car repaired at American Tires. Menudo is good. Parking is great and just accross from the westfield mall so you can shop right after.

After driving by this place for years, I stopped in tonight for dinner. I was swayed by a picture of the salsa bar here on yelp. Salsa is often the deciding factor on whether or not a Mexican restaurant is a keeper. I ordered the enchilada combo with chicken enchiladas. The sauce on the enchiladas was kind of different, and I didn't really care for it. The chicken was decent. The serving of rice was okay but the beans were only about half a serving. The salsa was good, which makes me want to go back and try something different. My to go order did not come with chips, which is pretty unusual and kind of a negative. I'm not sure if this is standard or if they just forgot.
(3)David R.
They were so generous with their stale chips. The food came quick - they must have a fast microwave. The burrito was good but got a torta cubana. It came with black beans and ham. I feel like the guy gave me whatever he felt like making. The dude was not friendly overall bad experience don't come here if they offer you chips watch out they may be left out from last week.
(2)Daniel C.
Shit service with an attitude. Food is a let down your better off making what they sell at home ( tastes way better)

I'm on the hunt to find a little place that's both authentic, delicious no matter what's ordered, and not one of the big chains. With such a great name of El Super Taco, I couldn't hold back any longer. Seems authentic (all mexi in and out). Looks good. Smells good. Tastes meh. Disappointing. Well, the hunt continues. Not a long line for lunch, 2-5 people max inside, but a pretty decent size mini-mall space holds 15-20 tables. A small salsa bar captured my attention, but I had one thing in mind -- tacos of the fried kind. Fried tacos are both art and science. The taco has to be crisp, but not too crisp. It must also be fried to order. Unfortunately, the ones served here, on the day of my culinary experiences -- the shells were hard as rocks. Thick, and the chicken inside did not make up for what the outside lacked. Man can not live on chopped tomato and lettuce, albeit, tasty. After all, if put Taco in your name...especially with Super in it, you better bring it. Perhaps other things would be okay, but with so many places to try...not sure if I'd return again to El not-so-Super Taco.
(2)Brandon M.
These people act like they care! Quality food, nice people. Even said goodbye and thank you! I had the Asada plate tender and excellent. I will be back to try more things.
(4)Kacie J.
I'm not sure how this place has this many stars. Giving the benefit of the doubt, we went on a Sunday night, so maybe that had something to do with it. The taco's were terrible, even the chips were stale. Carnitas was super dry, pastor was mediocre at best as was the asada & that's being really nice. Basically we were super hungry, reluctantly choked down two tacos & ended up taking the rest home to the dog. if you're in the mood for taco's, go ANYWHERE else in la. One star for service & being open late on a Sunday.
(1)Drew V.
Cool comfortable atmosphere and good food! Whenever I go they have a good telenovela or some gripping futbol on the tv. The comida here is always good portions. I highly recommend the torta with milanesa--it was muy danko. They also have a salsa bar on the side which is awesome. Parking can be a pain and I had to park in the neighborhood behind one time, but you'll wanna work those calories off anyway!
(5)Rawb E.
Well, it's almost been 5 years since going to this spot, tried it the other day and it was NOTHING how i remembered! They still have a big salsa bar, and they're all good... but the asada and lengua, ugh! I feel like just 5 years ago i knew what good meat was and good tacos were, but fuck apparently not!! Place was hot as SHIT too boy, whew!! When i decided to stop there and eat i was anticipating a nice cold place to sit and chill, it was the exact opposite, in fact it even felt COOLER once i went back outside! I remember the place being a lot better, maybe it's still the same and my tastes have changed, who knows... would still recommend trying the place, if you dont feel like Del Taco which is right across the street...
(2)Tai A.
It's surprisingly hard to find solid easy, quick, and cheap Mexican in the westside and this place does it well. Great Menudo and Alambres. My only complaint is that sometimes the salsa bar gets really messy.
(4)Rique R.
Price is average food is average as well.... Not the best food in town. The salsa bar and chips were a plus. This a small location in a shopping center with minimal parking.
(3)Adam F.
First of all, if you order fried tacos we can never be friends. Never. Tacos are meant to be served on small, steamed corn tortillas with fresh onions and cilantro. Topped with El Super Taco's amazing avocado salsa, it becomes something to savor. I usually stick with three tacos, but I could definitely see myself competing for the house record if I lost self control. Really good, simple, authentic mexican food. The super nachos are enough for two people and will satisfy everyone. Nothing fancy, and not refined, but the flavors are great in the asada, carnitas, and the salsa bar is the best in town. Literally.
(5)Brian S.
Decent mexican food. Nothing fancy so dont come in here looking for fine dinning. I am a big fan of the Torta de Lingua and the nachos. great taco's.

So I've been lazy lately and haven't gotten my butt to the grocery store to be able to cook dinner for my family. After a long day yesterday, I was too tired to shop and cook after my daughter's lacrosse practice, so I decided it was a good day to get tacos from my family's favorite, very local taco place: El Super Taco. El Super Taco has easy parking and is always quick. My family likes the pollo and carnitas tacos and cheese enchiladas, so I order two of each of the taco dinners and a cheese enchiladas dinner. All of the dinners come with refried beans and rice, and we then swap tacos so everyone can get a mix (the dinners come with three tacos, and you can order different meat on each, but we do this to make it easier). My daughter assembled a handful of salsas for us, and we were off to the house with dinners in hand. We are never disappointed by our dinners from El Super Taco. They're not exceptional, but certainly not bad. I give this three stars because it's not really exceptional, and I have had tacos from the El Super Taco on Pico and Sawtelle that puts fried onions on the tacos. Simple, basic, and a solid A-OK.
(3)Luck W.
Wow...while waiting on $30 worth of food, I accidentally spilled half of my horchata...I asked the cashier if I could get it filled again and that I would pay...before the cashier was able to finish asking her manager...he says "...it's not our fault?".... it was rude, cheap and distasteful...
(1)Andrew C.
They give a good amount of food and it tastes awesome and is well priced. My go-to lunch place near work for authentic Mexican.
(4)Still Water Runs Deep F.
It's alright food, but I would not go back here. The breakfast burrito was small for the price I paid for it. Sorta expensive based on my experience. It would of been better with potatoes in it. That's just my 3 cents or over $6 with tax which is what the burrito cost. That's a wrap!
(2)Gaby M.
The guy at the register was nice. The wet burrito I got was just okay. The Nachos my mom ordered were plain it had a little bit of meat and a lot of beans, and no cheese like are you kidding me. I wanted my mom to have some good Mexican food after her relaxing massage next door because it was her birthday but it was a total failed. Expensive and not great. Won't be going back.
(1)Enio D.
We must have come on a bad day. We got tacos to go. We ended up throwing some away because they didn't smell good. We came to this place because of the ratings but it's not much inside. The salsa was nothing impressive.
(1)Kevin C.
Ok, so I've ate their burritos before and they good. Today I tried the fish tacos. Again, customer service, cleanliness, atmosphere are all good. Today's plate though not so much. Presentation was good as was the rice and beans. The fish tacos left my palette desiring more flavor. The fish didn't have the white cream you get when over the border, or @Taconazo or LaBufadora. Guess I was expecting more. The fish by itself had a strong taste to it, but I couldn't tell if it's freezer burn, or it being left out cause it had a super strong fishy taste. Didn't smell bad, just an after taste. Perhaps it being drenched in lemon or the grease it was fried in affected the taste. In any case, so far LaBufadora remains #1 as the place to get fish tacos. The closest one I know is in North El Monte. With the drive if you're from this side of town. I give it my seal of approval. Still come in to El super Taco and taste the pozole or the burrito de carne asada. Hell, come for the tacos! Oh one last thing, no horchata, but they have fresh juices.
(3)Carolina Z.
This place should be called Super Torta! Their torta menu is awesome. My review heavily weighs in on service. When you're on your way to work in the early morning, it's nice to be able to call in a couple of breakfast burritos. They were actually pretty good. My only gripe would be that I want potatoes on a breakfast burrito. Next time I will ask for some. Over all the staff was professional, friendly, and the place was clean. The food is freshly made in an open style kitchen and I love the fresh juices they offer.
(5)Dee Dee K.
Excellent, authentic food served with great attitude. We were going to the movies and needed to get dinner so stopped at El Super Taco. I ordered a mole burrito which was a special of the day and it was fantastic. The other two dishes ordered were sopas and barbacoa de chivo. Each dish was well executed and really tasty. This is not Taco Bell or some Anglo version of Mexican food, this is very good and authentic Mexican food at very reasonable prices. Everything is home made and the staff--who I assume are the owner and his wife--were very nice. I wish there were more authentic, mom and pop, restaurants like this in LA. We will be back.
(4)Raja S.
It's a good lunch spot. The name seems a bit cheesy, but the food makes up for it. They have a good selection of different meats, which they prepare well. And I really like their rice. Their chips & salsa leave something to be desired though.
(4)Alex M.
A very good taco joint close to my job in Playa Vista. If you don't keep an eye out for this place you might miss it. It's in the corner of a low key small plaza. Ordered the sope plate and two extra tacos. Al pastor and carne asada, the meats were juicy and flavorful. The sope tortilla was moist and soft, good base to put the meat and toppings on. Wish though they put cotija cheese on top as a regular topping. Don't know if they have cotija cheese. I'll check next time since I am definitely returning. Nice too if you eat in you get complimentary tortilla chips. They were great to snack on with the red salsa they have. Oh, they also have a great salsa bar, tasty!
(4)Linda S.
simply delicious. we found this little gem hunting for a breakfast burrito, and are hooked. Coffee is sweet and cinnamony, we get the chorizo egg burrito and a steak, rice, and egg burrito. All the salsas are delicious, give the fresh squeezed orange juice a try too!
(5)Hilda V.
After a long day of work and doing some holiday shopping my husband and I decided to stop with our two kids. My husband ordered 4 tacos and they were cold he had to ask the cook to put them in the microwave because the meat was cold. I had to to the same with mine. The service was not the greatest. I don't think I will be coming here again.
(1)Dustin M.
I'm a bit concerned that I found this place on my way in to work this morning. Not only do they have an excellent breakfast burrito (I got the Machaca & Egg), but they also have good chips and tasty salsas (I got the Roja, Avocado, and Habanero salsas). I'm afraid I may be stopping by here a bit too often on my in to work, and my diet may suffer. NOTE: They no longer offer the $1.99 Mini Breakfast Burritos shown in one of the pictures.
(4)Jocelyn M.
DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the only reason i took away a star is because they raised their prices =( everything is good here though - chilequiles, burritos, tacos, nachos, tortas.... the rice is super yummo and beans are delicious! i dont drink it, but my friends tell me their coffee is ridiculous and my friends comes in every morning double fisting their coffee goodness!
(4)Tony R.
Coffee !!! They have cafe de olla .. A must try for coffee drinkers .. Oh and the food is pretty good too.. They know me by name cause I come so much
(5)tae k.
Went here for cinqo de mayo with the GF and got my usual carne asada torta which hit the spot. The bread is nicely toasted. Love their super spicy habanero sauce. Place is clean and lots of seating. Service is prompt and friendly.
(4)Patricia C.
good breakfast burritos and carne asada tortas! my husband swears by the menudo!!
(5)Melyssa G.
It was ok. Prices are middle range. Salsa was acceptable. Nothing stood out either bad or good.
(2)Hellen C.
I really love this place. It's right next to my job and the food is great. My favorites are the chilaquiles and chile relleno. I'm really picky when it comes to the chile relleno, just because some places cannot get rid of the raw egg smell, but this place has got it good. I also really love their horchata, really yummy. The people are friendly and the service is quick and if they ever make a mistake, they are quick to make it right. I am a frequent customer, usually 2 times a week for breakfast since it's so near my job! Great job Super Taco team!
(5)Jacklyn R.
For Mexican food it's ok. Not bad by any means, it's close to my house so I'll probably end up a regular. I tried the wet burrito and torta. Both were good, it looks family run. I say try it out, it's pretty good. Although I will say their green salsa WAS AMAZING!!!!!!
(3)Hion L.
El Super Taco is one of the places where I frequent but every time I leave I wonder why. The food here is nothing to really advertise about. Their carne asada and carnitas lacks much of the tenderness and flavor that dozens of other taquerias have mastered. The tortas are a bit meager and not really memorable. Taquitos are ok and complemented with a ton of guac. The super alambre is a greasy mess of bell peppers and meat, again very bland. The al pastor seems like they are trying too hard to be different. It was way too tough and lacked any flavor profile other than the chili powder they cook it with - it did not resonate the BBQ notes that is the key quality of al pastor. Nachos are a good size but again, a bit of an optical illusion since the plate is small. In regards to their burrito, it is packed with so much lettuce that I thought I got a salad wrap. So why do I keep coming here? Well, they are pretty consistent in the level of food. I was met with mediocrity every time. It is definitely more authentic than Del Taco across the street (although 39 cent Tues taco night is hard to compete with). The restaurant is very clean and service is great, never failing to greet you with a cheeriness and yelling out "thank you" as you leave. The salsa bar is a huge plus. It brings them up from a two star rating from the food itself. The habanero salsa is my favorite as it provides a wonderful level of heat without being numbingly hot. They have two other red salsas as well as salsa verde and guacamole salsa. Having these at hand really brings the food up a notch. I have yet to go through their other items, but not expecting too much.
(3)Andrew H.
Okay, I think I'm giving all these nice reviews to these these Mexican restaurants because I'm only going with people I like (and Burritos are inherently delicious) but with a name like El Super Taco, how can you NOT like this place? I ordered a Carnitas Burrito while my friend ordered an Asada Nacho Plate. Both were delicious, presented well, and fairly priced ($15 for both). Get the combo because the rice and beans makes you think you're eating healthy.
(3)Apryl D.
I have to give this place 5 stars for the following reasons: * The service is amazing! They even recognize my voice when I call in and know what I want. * The fresh juice. * The prices are very reasonable. * The salsa suicide and guacamole are FABULOUS. Don't try the salsa suicide if you're a sissy though. * Hubby loves their steak tacos.
(5)B L.
Kind of expensive for a mexican fast food restaurant. The reason for 3 star is that the food taste pretty good but the price is kind of expensive. there are the food trucks around the corner which sell similar items and a lot cheaper!
(3)Ethan L.
The name may seem strange, but don't let it fool you; it's excellent Mexican food, and nicely priced. The foods are quite authentic, tasty, and served quickly. The salsas are excellent. It would be nice to get warmer chips and have longer hours, but it remains a great lunch spot.
(4)Angie N.
Hub took me here recently for breakfast (he's a regular). It was my first time so I was going to get my usual, machaca con huevos or huevos rancheros, but it turns out they had a much larger variety of interesting items than I'm used to. They have great breakfast plate specials for $4.99 that come with beans, rice, and tortillas as well as a free cup of coffee (Mexican style with cinnamon). But, the mini breakfast burritos caught my eye. Come on...MINI burrito? Who ever heard of such a thing?? If it's one thing I've thought about Mexican food in the past is why there aren't any smaller sizes available, other than for the kids plates. El Super Taco delivered! I had a machaca and egg mini burrito for $1.99 and it was more than enough to satisfy my appetite, not to mention it was so cute I wanted to spank it when it was set down in front of me. The molcajete salsa is TOO good, I ate more chips (also good) than I should've have due to this salsa alone. The other salsas were also very tasty, so my mini burrito soon became a mini wet burrito and was simply great. The clayuda (which I'd never heard of before) sounds really good (from the picture looks like a quesadilla, but has black bean paste and shredded cabbage inside with meat), so I'll definitely have to try that next time we go! Wish there was one closer to home, I'd be a regular too!
(4)Kelly S.
Have been here two or three times and wasn;t too impressed. The first time I got t nachos and the second time maybe a burrito. My co-workers told me the green pozole was great so today I got some. They were right. It is great! Nice sized amount and it comes with delicious chips, bag of cabbage, bag of onions and limes, small salsa container of herbs and chile's, small salsa container of onions and cilantro.
(4)Vanessa F.
How about a 3.95 for kicks & giggles The only reason I come here is for their nachos. They have some pretty solid nachos here. I've tried the tacos & the tortas which were pretty elementary....not much depth in terms of flavor & prob not worth what you pay for them [tho the tacos are $1] What I dooo enjoy is their nachoosss! I have no idea how they do it but when you eat these nachos it's like a bomb of Mexican goodness going off in your mouth. I usually order them with carnitas. I've had better carne asada & the al pastor is decent but sometimes the flavor of al pastor doesn't compliment the salsa/guac/sour cream very well. The carnitas is your best bet. It's shredded so you get it in every bite. The diced onions & cilantro are always a favorite of mine and I usually get a ziplock baggy [provided] & fill it with the stuff so I can dump it on as I go =] I like their classic pico de gallo/red salsa on my nachos but my bf prefers the green for a milder kick. What more do you ask?? The usual suspects: crispy chips, melted cheese, creamy guac, & standard sour cream, Doesn't sound like much but trust me it's GOOD. When it comes down to it...El Super Taco delivers. I crave this place frequently but for the sake of my health I exercise serious discipline when it comes down to my nachos. But don't test me...cuz I'll do it!!! I'll get in my car right now & get some!!! ..the problem is...they close @ like 10 or something =[
(3)Jason R.
First off, the beans were really salty. Like, so salty I didn't even eat them. Maybe first day jitters on their part? The rice was mediocre, at best. Something was missing in its flavor...I'll remark upon it later on. Now the tacos... By far the best taco was the al Pastor. It was super tender and was marinated proper. It had a good glaze on it and wasn't over powering with the marinade. I really couldn't have asked for much more from a non spit pastor taco. Nice job. I know I should never judge a book by its cover, but damn, the pollo taco ooked gnarly to me. As a result, I wasn't really enjoying this taco. It was tender but lacked much flavor. I really doused the salsas and onion and cilantro on this puppy. Now for the suadero. What is suadero you might be asking? I really didn't know what this meat was until I saw it as an option at one of my favorite westside taco trucks. Tacos de Valle ~ yelp.com/biz/tacos-de-va… Anyways, suadero is basically beef brisket which is grilled. The suadero at Tacos de Valle looked mighty fine so I decided to try them out here first. It tasted alright. Very meaty with a chewy texture. Almost like carnitas, but beef. There wasn't much flavor besides the meatyness, so of course expect me to douse the shit outta this taco with their salsa verde. Throughout my meal I kept noticing that something was missing. Flavor! Dare I say this El Super Taco lacks that bold mexican flavor? I will! The flavors were empty and left me with a feeling that the food was NOT prepared with that mexican amore. It felt like I was eating food that was "prepared" just not "cared" for. I have this feeling I'm being a bit harsh because it was the first day, so I'm sure the cooks still have to get used to all the in's and out's in making the standard. I'll keep that in mind. To end it on a positive note, they kept with their heritage and served their tacos bare with a side of grilled onions, and of course their salsa bar is still bangin'. 2.5/5 - the pastor saved em' Tacos ~ $1.25

Ordered food to go and found a short and curly in the salsa from the salsa bar. Won't be going back.

El Super Taco makes one of the best tortas I've had. They offer a wide selection of delicious salsas and service is quick. The Muy torta is awesome. The head cheese gives it a buttery texture in your mouth that is reminiscent of a richer cream cheese. This particular El Super Taco location is a little bit different from the one on Pico. They tend to give a little less meat in their tortas, but a much larger serving of avocados. It's a trade off -- if you prefer more meat hit up the one on Pico, if you prefer more avocado hit up this one on Jefferson. This location also has a larger amount of seating than the one on Pico.

I am upping my rating to 5 stars. I have not had a bad meal yet and I have expanded my tasting menu to at least 15 items. The service is outstanding and quality and cleanliness is consistently topnotch. That definitely deserves 5 stars in my book.

A small local fast food Mexican restaurant , that is big on flavor. Good tacos and burritos, the meat is tender and full of flavor. The real star is there salsa bar, a good selection of homemade salsas, try the suicide salsa (if you like it hot). Not much decor, but good food.

The name of this place seems to make people skeptical about going but it's actually pretty darn good. I've been about 4-5 times now and have tried a few different items and so far I've always been satisfied. If it's your first time I recommend getting the combo plate (enchilada + taco + sope) and get each one w/a different meat so you can get a good sampling. I really like the tortas and the asada burrito. There's also this killer habenero salsa (orange) which def get's the job done! The service is good too, always feel like you're getting special attention. Sometimes I have a hard time deciding whether to go here or to Pepe's. They're very similar although Pepe's is a lot smaller. Both places serve your food on real dishes w/real silverware (well not literally silver, but you know what I mean) and at both places you leave your mess for them to clean up when you're done (I always like to leave a buck or two even tho it's not necessary just to say thanks). Anyhow, it's a great place to get some good food for fairly cheap and has become a frequent lunch destination w/my friends from work.

This place is small and the parking lot tiny (although this doesn't matter much since the other stores in the plaza are places no one venture to). It is a popular spot, and the only real mexican joint around the area. The prices are low, and you can eat a great amount for around $8 as a combo. It's a place me and my gf goes to when we are strapped on cash and crave mexican. We usually get the burritos, but the tortas are yummy too. The selection has a nice variety for everyone to enjoy, and they recently got picture menus up that makes things easier (harder for some anal people) to pick from. If we weren't on a diet, we would frequent this place. Also, there are unlimited radish slices that we enjoy, and the sauces are yummy as well.

I used to go to the El Super Taco in West LA/Santa Monica on Santa Monica Blvd until it burnt to a fried crisp, I like chasing down roach coaches and trekking to Highland Park for an excellent taco, however there are those days that you just don't care to venture that far but you need somewhat greasy eats to satisfy a craving or a late night of imbibe. I had noticed on my leaving the ghetto target to jump onto the 405 North that an El Super Taco had opened in the obscure mini mall where the chinese restaurant/donut place is, since it seemed so lowkey and hidden, I figured that I had to try it out on one Sunday morning. I ordered a taco combo, yes tacos for breakfast, you get 3 tacos, beans and rice. I'm not a big fan of beans so I opted to have a double order of rice. Asked for the carne asada, the combo comes with a soda, all for a little over $6.00 and change. With a fresh salsa bar of cilantro, onions, salsa, limes, I had prepped my condiments for my tacos and in less than 10 minutes I was out of there. The carne asada isnt heavily spiced or marinated, but it is soft and has enough fat on it but not overwhelmingly oily that your hands arent greasy from the tacos. I dabbled some of the red hot sauce over my rice and this turned out to be a good meal. Again it isnt the end all to be all of tacos, but when you're in the westside and just dont want to make that trek, so far I've been fairly satisfied by the El Super Taco chain. After typing up this review, really makes me crave some carne asada, mmmm.....

I ordered the Super Burrito with carne asada and it was delicious. All the ingredients were fresh and it was well cooked. The salsa bar is outstanding. The service was very cool. The pricing is excellent ($7.75 for my plate which included beans, rice, and a drink). Going back for sure.

The only place I've ever seen or had a "clayuda" (or tlayuda, if you want to be specific) And it's AMAZING! I really love this place for delicious, fresh and very reasonably priced Mexican food. To me, this is one of the more authentic Mexican eateries that I have been to and I absolutely love it every time. I think the clayuda is one of my favorite items, but I would definitely recommend eating it first if you are getting other things too. The nice lady who took our order the first time we tried it told us to do this and it was the best idea. The second time we got it, we waited until after we finished our carne asada nachos (also delicious) before diving in and I completely understood why she told us the first time. There is just so much juicy goodness that by the time we got to it, the crunchy, thin tortilla was a little soggy. But this did not affect the flavor or wonderful taste in any way. We still devoured it and I promptly went into a food coma after inhaling everything. Next time, I would really like to try their burritos or flautas. I'm sure just about anything you get would be tasty, especially if you drench it in their wonderfully spicy avocado salsa. YUM! Any Mexican place that has even a *decent* salsa bar automatically gets two thumbs up from me and theirs definitely does not disappoint, in my opinion. Can't wait to come back and try more stuff. Their tortas look amazing, and I am also dying to try their fish tacos as well. Just talking about it is making me hungry...and since I can't wait, I'll probably be already returning this weekend!

This place was mediocre at best. The carnitas taco took first place with the carne asada at a close second. Salsa bar was fairly typical with the guacamole salsa being the most flavorful. The taco tortillas were only warmed and served as opposed to that lightly fried tortilla you can sometimes find at taco trucks. To me that makes a huge difference and is something I look for in a good taco. I feel like if they treated that tortilla with a little more love and seasoned/marinated the meats a bit more they'd have a 4 star rating from me. Kick it up a notch with a couple more tasty salsas and there's your 5 stars.

El Super Taco is just fine... I got 2 carne asada tacos and they were pretty standard. My friend got a torta and said he thought it was over priced and also, just okay. The salsa bar would have been stellar had they had those spicy carrots I love... where can I find me a taqueria that has those on the West Side!? The service was good and this location is close enough to my work that I may just come back.

For what this place is, a taco stand, the prices are a little steep. $6 for a CHEESE only quesadilla is a bit too much if you ask me. The salsa bar is nice - don't believe the hype - the "suicide" as they call it salsa is really not that spicy. Don't be scurrrred - check it out! The asada tacos' meat was a little bland and you basically have to dress the taco yourself. This place is no substitute for El Taco LLama. Next!

I stop in this place a lot to bring food home to the hubby. They always are so gracious & nice & help me order the food. I always forget what the order & the woman actually remembers what I ordered a week or 2 weeks before!! I love that you can serve your own salsa. They are speedy & clean :) My husband loves their tacos & always eats up the sides of rice & beans. Love this place. It's quick, easy & TASTY!

Wow, it took so long to open. And oh what a let down. I really hoped it was a little different. Unfortnately, the best things about this place are the salsa bar and tortas. Don't let the name Super Taco fool you. This place is all about Tortas and salsa bar. They have a VERY spicy one that will cause a major sweat fest with every bite. I found as previously posted, most things are a little salty. I was suprised that after waiting for so long to open us, this place has so much more potential. I hope the owner will take a moment to adjust the menu and flavor accordingly to better suit the patrons. Will i go back? Probably, what else is close by with home made flavor? But i'll stick with the Tortas and Nachos, avoid the combos.

I've been waiting for this place to open up! I got the El Super Taco Combination plate that comes with taco, enchilada and sopa. You can choose from 8 different types of meat (I got asada) and it comes with a drink. I found the food to be delicious. The salsa bar rocks and their avocado sauce is very yummy. they also have suicide hot sauce which was pretty darn spicy. The only thing I didn't care for was the tortilla with the sopa. I will definitely be back! The breakfast special with cactus looks especially intriguing.

we have been searching for chilequilles all over santa monica-culver city area. Finally went to a local spot we heard had it. Fist time we went it came out perfect! So the second time we went we were excited to go back. Well the egg was still runny and so we asked for it to be well done. Im pretty sure they tossed it in the microwave. :( Anyways we got 2 and just ate the riceand chips and left. We went back a 3rd time to give them another chance, as we ordered we asked for the egg to be cooked all the way and he looked at me like 'duh' so i kind of felt bad for even asking. Well we got the dish with what tasted like tomato paste and a fried egg??? i guess thats just the way they make there chilequilles.

Good stuff. Everybody in the family is happy when it's El Super Taco night. take out only. Try the Clayuda!

I love this place. I used to go here for lunch everday before my company moved out of the area when this litlle gem moved here. It's tucked away on the corner of Jefferson & Sepulveda where the old buffalo wings restaurant used to be. They're known for their tortas, but I'm not a fan or tortas. They're tacos are great and their flautas are to die for. They have best salsa bar which includes a orange salsa that burns like hell but it's soooo freakin good. The rice and beans are always hot, fresh and authentic. They are wonderfully priced, clean and friendly.

An ok taco and cheap combo plates. The carnitas was a bit dry, but had some large chunks of meat Seems like it's more roasted that roasted/fried. Carne asada was on the tough side. The Pastor was the best of 3 tacos. Try the Salsa Suicide...it's definitely on the hot side of things.

Stopped in there for lunch. The service and food is good. Good salsa bar. Try the el diablo salsa... but make sure to have a diet coke handy.

This place is my guilty pleasure. I love the nachos! they have a salsa bar with many choices, and are usually pretty quick. however, they dont offer hard shell tacos, and im not a fan of the burritos.(to much beans and rice, not enough meat, so it makes you feel ripped off)
(4)Matritza L.
Their tacos are ok. Nothing I cant make but having it made for me while running an errand is delightful. I enjoy their avocado salsa. I would come here for breakfast cause they have a promotional Mini burrito- since im always on the go.
(3)Hugh H.
I've eaten here over 10 times, never had a bad meal. It is clear they care about the quality of the food as there's usually very little gristle/fat in any of their meats. Their salsa is fresh and always well prepared. One of the few Mexican joints in Culver City that does it right. Highly recommended.
(4)Liza D.
I basically come here for the chorizo & egg breakfast burrito. It's a good size, tastes good and costs about $5. Sat down for breakfast the other day and got the chorizo and eggs platter and the coffee. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the coffee was Mexican coffee with a cinnamon taste. The salsa has a couple of different types, but they are unlabeled, so I had to guess on the spiciness levels.

A great place for authentic Mexican food for great prices. I used to go to the one on SM Blvd (near Bundy) in West LA till it got flooded and they closed. Fortunately since it's a chain, the Culver City location has the same taste and quality I've come to expect. My favorites are the carne asada tacos and horchata, and the salsa of course.

This is the closest Mexican food restaurant to me from work, so I had to try it out since Mexican food is my favorite! The prices are decent, they have the combination plates which are a little pricier than the a la carte options of course. This is a very casual eatery, and can get crowded around lunch time. After you order food, you will get chips and salsa as you wait for the meal to be prepared, free of charge, that's always a plus in my book. The service is kind and friendly, I've never had a problem with any of the staff. There is also a salsa bar with different salsa flavors. Now the food is pretty good, but not the best that I've ever had. Flavorful but not over the top good HOWEVER they do have the best chile` rellenoes* that I have ever had and let me tell you Ive eaten Mexican food all over so cal, San Diego and Midwest. At first it was a specialty item- sometimes they had it sometimes they didn't but it wasn't on the menu, just on a hand written sign. Now, since so many people request it, its always being served! If you're In the area, and have a hankering for some Mexican food I would have to recommend the Chile Relleno from El Super Taco!

El Super Taco opened down the street from my work. So, my colleges and I decided to try them out. The odd thing when I walked in everyone was ordering their tortas. Maybe they should change the name to El Super Torta. I ordered a torta cubana and a fish taco. After I added toppings from the salsa bar to my taco, I just devoured it. However, I realized I was really hunger and that the fish taco was ok but I have had better. Next I tried the torta cubana and I really enjoyed this sandwich. This is nothing compared to a true cubana sandwich but the flavor of beans and mayonnaise made this really tasty. On a dare, I added their suicide salsa which was great. It started with a blast of heat and then the flavors of the salsa came through. Overall, this is a great place to get tortas. They do (of course) offer tacos and looking at their menu offer a good variety of other Mexican dishes. If I crave tortas I know where to go.

El super taco is the Reward for after-hiking-Baldwin-Hill. Light, fresh, Lo-cal, hi-protein, or vegetarian-friendly... It's awesome.
(5)Kim L.
Great place for delicious cheap eats! Their avocado salsa is sooooo good. I had the taco combo with asada and al pastor tacos which were yummy. You gotta add the onions and cilantro yourself but the meat is super yummy!
(4)Joseph A.
So far I've an Alambre, Nachos, the wet burrito, sopes, tacos, and the enchilada. It's all been good! The place is nice and clean, and the salsa bar is good as well. I would give this place 5 stars if their al pastor was better. Edit: I just had the nachos again and they are MONSTER
(4)Shetul S.
good and fast service, its basically a Mexican fast food joint, but not really. awesome food selection, my fav: torta de asada is a perfect combination of all ingredients, perfect mix of meat and veggies, with a nice and crispy bread and then top it off with a Mexican coke bottle, 'hecho en mexico' 5 stars!!!
(5)Sergio N.
Tacos just OK, Sopes vary good. if you like hot salsa you have to try the Habanero salsa.
